BMW bullet proof?

Have had a 650 for two and a half years, off the road at the mo. The cog teeth that comes off the starting motor have, broken off.
Not the first problem had with this bike or BMW's representative.
The only transport I have, to rely on now, that doesn't let me down, is a 20 year old Italjet, I've had since it was it was new.

What I can't quite believe is that I paid an extra two or three grand, for a more than
average Maxi Scooter. Why?

Just to let you know, took a logo badge off and smashed it, thats what I think of BMW, bullet proof.

Nothing is bullet proof....Even bullet proof glass is not bullet PROOF. All mechanical things break down. How much fun you have is what should be measured.
I used to own some fairly expensive sports cars and people would complain about the maintenance and insurance and the break down costs. It really is simple. You want a Ferrari/McLaren/Porsche it ain't cheap and the cost of entry is only half the equation. To me these bikes are very inexpensive to maintain and enjoy.

Yea, you're right. I'm sure when the thing is back together again.....thinking now how practical they are (its my only other form of transport), relaxing to ride, easy to use, can get more than a weeks shopping, under the seat! Can get me to work in all weathers, well +50mph winds l can't do.
That some of the reasons why it's so missed.
Was expected better from BMW'S sirvice, not been great.
At least the cheap Italian 2 stroke is still running sweet, wow what machine!

Totally agree on the level of service. Not impressed with my local dealer at all from a service standpoint. Even from a sales perspective they suck. Put my name on a pre order wait list to see the new c400x back in March. Promised I would be the first to know. Happened to visit their website the other day and low and behold they have one for sale. I call...Different sales person tells me its been there for a month. No thanks. Do not care about making lasting happy customers. Just want the immediate buck today. Unfortunately it seems that is the way of the world anymore.

Its all about money nowadays thats for sure.
Do have a great Harley-Davidson dealership about 500 yards down the street. They've been in this Town for something like 30ish years or there abouts. Couldn't help with the C650, but did try.
Had a sirvice at my local BMW shop, they charged me twice, when I informed them, was accused of fraud, had to go to my bank in the end to short it out.

The cx in black that got some cool styling all over, compared to most scooters,
Had a ride on the other 400, very qwick and enough power for anyone.
