Hey there, how are you ? I recently got a C650gt but i saw that it's missing something in the left of the engine... i attached pic IMG_4350.JPG

What was there ?
Thank you so much

Best regards, Genti.

It's part # 23007693739 and lists for $12.75 (US). I can't really look for dealers in Europe but I'm sure it would save you time and trouble if you didn't have to order from a US source.

I ordered that but now i'm afraid if any dust or water got into that hole.. can you tell me what is inside that ? transmission oil ? or...

Regards.

I'm a new owner and not too mechanically minded but I think the drive chain is in that housing. The owners manual just says "Oil Bath" but doesn't specify what type of oil. If you suspect that water or a significant amount of dirt may have gotten in, I'd guess it should be changed.

Hopefully someone in the forum has checked this out or has information concerning the spec's for oil type and if there's a drain plug on that housing.

Can anyone tell me how to check the oil level on the chain drive case? I had an apparent oil leak but I dotn know how to check the level before I add any oil

In your owner's manual, look at page 95 (maintenance - engine oil). Alternatively you can download pdf version of your manual here: https://ownersmanuals2.com/bmw/c-650-gt-2016-owners-manual-66352

EDIT: sorry misread your question that you want to check chain drive case oil level... I read somewhere that the "BMW" black plastic cover on the side can be removed to check oil level.
