Electrical diagrams/wire colors

Installing Clearwater lights last night (install/review post later) and was trying to find a wiring diagram to determine best place to splice in for relay and high beam function. I have the repair manual on CD and I think I looked in every section and I have yet to find an electrical diagram or color code for wiring. The closest I found was a procedure to replace the wiring harness and how to repair a damaged wire per BMW recommendations. Any ideas where on CD this is? or other source?

Figures...BMW>>> bring more wampum. I thought I bought the Service Manual which I assumed had all I needed to do anything required or same used by BMW dealer, guess not. Must be the apprentice mechanics manual. BMW Service Manual Lite=$120, Honda Service Manual complete=$35, printed and you don't have to keep switching from German when you try and read it. Oh well.

The shop manual the dealer uses (and I use) also does not have a wiring diagram. It has most of the bikes since the oil head R bikes came out (the R1100) but no wiring diagrams. I think the idea is that the kids working on your bike is not into electronics but can only replace the wiring harness.

You could work back from the high beam, or forward from the high beam switch. Or, put in a new complete circuit. I tend to put in complete circuits to avoid overloading minimalist electrical systems.

I wanted to tie in right near the switch as I was using it to trigger the full power option on some Clearwater lights but there were too many wires to mess with right there. I just ended up tapping into it right near socket so I was sure. It's only a trigger for relay or solid state device that sets lights to full power when high beams are activated. Working as expected so all good.
