engine rpm at 95 mph

My bike reads 5k till about 85 and then reads 6k above that...and that's solo and with passenger. To be honest anything over 100 I'm not looking at anything but the road.

Some place between 5k and 6k or about 68mph / 110k the CVT is maxed out and you are locked 1 to 1 with the engine. With the tachometer we have you can not tell the exact rpm when the CVT and Engine are locked together.

Nope, I've had mine at 104mph according to the best I can get from my GPS which does flicker an mph above and below that but was more interested in the top speed than the rpms. It appears that speed is where you hit the rev limiter since it just stops there even on a pass each way on a slightly sloping road so it would be the same rpm that you'd get unloaded with the bike on the center stand if you're brave enough to max it out on the stand. I'd have the stand tied so it couldn't fold if I were trying that. It's a shame that BMW put such a poor tach on the bike. I guess they didn't think it mattered with the CVT. It sure would have been nice if they'd put a programmable screen on the panel like one on a cell phone so it could be changed with a bit of re-programming, maybe a circular tach with a needle, add an engine temp gauge, etc. The liquid crystal screen looks like it's a fixed stencil so that would be impossible to do. Pity though.

Normally when a rev limiter is activated it makes itself very well known. Like cutting off the spark well known. Did you experience something like that. I've never hit the limiter which is why I ask. Although I did find myself and the missus in a bit of a contest with a Honda ST 1100, we found ourselves on the proud side of the century... We had no idea we got going that fast as the bike was no more upset than it was at 70. The owner of the ST was surly not happy a scooter riding 2-up had kept up our appearance as well as we did. That was about the time I backed off. We experienced no shortage of power and did not hit the limiter.

Ok, so I probably should not add a "like" to any comment about anyone going 100 mph with a passenger, but you are an experienced rider and like I've pointed out many times before, as a C600 guy you do have an obligation to keep up the nutso persona.;)

I should add that I also have found myself going WAY too fast on the 650GT just because it is really smooth at speeds over 70.
