Excel Throttle Control

Hi folks. I am looking for a serious rider to evaluate my product. I would like to furnish an Excel Throttle Control to someone, free of charge. All I ask in return is for a fair evaluation, good or bad, and post your evaluation in this forum. Tom Dowell

Is this a throttle lock or a cruise control?

Thanks for your interest. This would be considered a manual control since it never locks your throttle. It allows the throttle to be moved at all times and is infinitely adjustable, on the fly, for the amount of friction applied to the end of your throttle. It is engaged and disengaged by moving a ball with your little finger, and no matter how many times it is engaged or disengaged it always returns to your last setting.

Tom,

I'd be interested in reviewing your product. Located just a couple hours north of you in Chicago suburbs. Almost daily commuter to work and longer trips on weekends. Ability to ride daily is winding down depending on weather. I've logged about 7,500 miles in 2016 so far. I do currently use a KAOKO if that makes a difference. Mark

Watched the video. The "quick release" ball is a great idea. I 've had a Kaoko since the first week and while I like the fine adjustment, the significant amount of "winding and unwinding" sometimes seems excessive.

Hi all,
just installed one of Tom's Excel Throttle Controls on my 2017 C650 Sport.
I am very happy with the quality and the overall finish of the product.
Watching the vid on his website made installation easy-peasy.
Shall help me a great lot when soon travelling from Melbourne to Cairns and back ~ 6000kms

Looks easy to use with that little knob thing. The Kaoko dial becomes second nature but the knob looks like it would make it learning curve even shorter.

It really is! On my 1150Gs I have a Kaoko-similar one. A retired engineer in our Bm club made'em for members/ Whilst it has a knobbly ring, I needed a tactile reference point, so I drilled a tiny hole into the knobbly ring and inserted a small screw. Works well for me.
The Excel takes this one, even two levels higher: not only has it got - a way more elegant looking knob (wrong word, can't find a better one), moreover this 'knob' allows some quick-shift 'arresting' of the throttle with ~ half a turn. Inbetween this 'on' and the 'off' position is a middle position where the throttle is not completely arrested, rather still can be twisted with a firm grip.
Hrd to explain, but for me certainly a BIG improvement and more user-friendly - as I said - a nice piece of engineering.
BTW - "No!" - I am NOT Tom's brother, cousin, neither business partner, just a very satisfied customer
