I am a new owner of a c650gt (less than 10 days). I was wondering if anybody has the givi tall screen installed?
I am 1.80 cm tall and I am wondering if I am going to able to look through the screen or totally ruin my sight.
Thank you all

I have always looked through my windscreens, and don't have a problem with it. The reduced helmet wind buffeting makes riding more pleasurable.
Many people say you have to look over your windscreen, but it is personal preference that rules. Your screen is adjustable anyway. Trim it so you look over it when down, and through it when up.

Thank you snowdog for your reply

indeed I have no problem looking through the screen, I find it far more comfortable. I was wondering if someone has the givi screen installed and could share if the screen sits high enough, to see through

So I got the givi screen:

Pros
Better overall wind protection
Excellent protection in the hand area.
You look through the screen and it reduces dramatically buffeting that the original screen
Elimination of wind buffeting on the shoulder area.

Cons
The wider screen kind of hides the on mirror bmw warning system
The screen is higher than the original so the thickness of the stricter in middle is thicker. I am filtering a lot in traffic and when I need to look lower in front of me between cars, this thickness creates a blurring. Nothing serious, just lower the screen when filtering.

Hope the above help

Hi!
I just got the Givi screen, it appears to be about 13cm taller than the OEM.
I am 193cm tall, and I do not like to look 'through' a screen, but I find that if I lower the screen so that the top edge is about 25mm below my line of sight, I get no significant wind buffeting. So I am very pleased!!
The screen has little extensions on both side to deflect wind from your hands, and this works very well. So well in fact that I havent installed the included separate hand wind deflectors that came with the screen.
And the install is a snap, the holes line up perfectly with the OEM mount.

Cheers,

Don

db60, what do you mean by the screen having little extensions on both sides that work well. So well that you don't need to install the separate hand wind deflectors?

the screen incorporates some deflectors for your hands that work well, at least they do for me. I havent uet installed the separate hand wind deflectors becuase of this.

So, after installing the Utopia Backrest, I no longer slouch so I sit higher, and the Givi screen is no longer tall enough for me, noisy.
So I got the Givi S180T Deflector and added that to the Givi screen. It works great, lots of adjustability, and no more wind noise. However, the Givi screen is thinner at the top where the Deflector clamps on, so in windy conditions, like on the highway, it can flap away annoyingly.
So, I reinstalled the OEM screen, which is not as tall as the Givi, but is thicker at the top, so it makes for a more rigid mount for the Deflector.
And it works great! Even though the OEM screen is shorter, I can raise it up enough so that I am looking through or just over the Deflector to eliminate wind noise.
I wish I had found this Deflector before I bought the Givi screen. I guess now I have a Givi screen for sale.
