Come to the Second annual Rally and see first hand how other riders mount their GPS. Just a couple of weeks away.

I use the ram mount on the reservoir without any problems. I've replaced the fly nut supplied on the arm with a locknut to avoid it being pinched. Bike has been in for a service with it mounted and I've had no comment from the dealer.

Here is my Zumo using the ram mount it's been there for a few weeks now without any problems. I was advised not to connect to the BMW electrical harness so I wired it up directly to the battery.

My only complaint is that there are far too many cables that are attached to the Zumo cradle. The Garmin dealer advised not to cut off the ones that I don't need ( all but the power cord actually) so the whole bunch is now tied up in a bundle in the console under the logo. Because some of the cables have metal connectors and I feared that they may rattle against the plastics, I wrapped the whole parcel of cables up in bicycle handlebar tape.

Ram-b-367u

Hi guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. Thanks for all of the intel.
I was able to locate a RAM mount that would attach to the hole where the m5 screw attaches for the center handlebar cover. RAM-B-367U comes with m8 screws but I was able to find a longer m5 screw at the dealer that goes all the way thru the mount & into the factory hole. I added a #10 washer to the top and a rubber grommet between the RAM mount and the plastic handlebar cover. I used the standard 2 inch arm and the x-mount. So far, so good.
Total time to install was less than 5 minutes once I had all of the components.

Who advised you and why not? I spliced my gps into the wire under the center cover that is meant for the BMW gps 3 years ago and have never had a problem. It powers up with the ignition and powers down when I shut the bike down.
