Hi everyone, I'm mike and live in Valencia CA. I've been commuting to work on my SYM RV250 for a couple of years now and decided to hop onto something bigger. After lots of shopping and research I was going to pick up a Yamaha Majesty - however, I found a really good deal on a barely used C650GT so I bought it instead. It's got about 1000 miles on it currently. My SYM RV250 has over 100,000 miles on it! mostly trouble free too.

I love my new scoot, but the 2 issues I'd like advice on is #1 it's a little tall for me. I'm 5'7" and find it a tad difficult to hold the bike up on my tip toes. I've already lowered the rear spring to the lowest setting so it's not terrible but if there are any tricks I'm all ears. #2 is the windshield. I seem to prefer it in the down position with the wind in my face because in the up position I get a lot of buffeting. Other than that, it's been awesome!

thanks!
Mike

There is a low seat available from BMW, but I don't know what it costs (most people get it on the bike at purchase time where there is no extra charge). Be warned that if you go for the low seat, you apparently sacrifice the heated seat feature.

hi, welcome. the only answer to that seat has been answered by jamie, i understand if it is too tall but i do cringe when i hear of people lowering the bike through suspension, all it leads too is no cornering clearence and handling problems. hope you find an answer and also hope you enjoy your scoot:cool:

I knew a woman who lowered a K75RT so much that you needed two or three people to lift it up onto the centerstand. She also had to get the sidestand cut, because it made the bike lean the wrong way. After she pretty much DESTROYED all of the factory suspension, tire, and frame geometry she wondered why everyone liked these bikes because "they don't handle very well..."

If you contact Corbin and tell them your inseam length they can work with you and customize the saddle for you and since you live Ca. You can go to there shop there and get it done in 1 day but be prepared to pay extra for this service .

You can also look at the daylong tour saddle. You get to keep the heated seat and it is built for your height, weight and inseam

Welcome! One thing that works is a pair of Engineer boots or Western style with heels. That'll give an inch or more of extra leg length. It worked for me when I had a bike that was a wee bit tall for me. My GT seemed pretty tall when I got it but I've gotten used to it now and don't really notice the height.
