Recently bought a 2013 C650GT to replace my beloved Honda PanEuropean (bad knees make it too painful to ride with knees bent). Still missing the Pan, but the C650 is an acceptable replacement.
Very impressed with the bike's abilities so far, but now looking to do some DIY servicing as (a) the local BMW dealer isn't very local and has dreadful customer service, and (b) I'm hearing scary stories about eye-watering prices for a 12000 mile / 20000km service.
I'll no doubt encounter you on the forums over the next few months.
