Juicing up the ride

Slowly making my modifications to the scoot with more to come! Picked up the exhaust off Ebay and the ram mount from amazon. I don't care what has been said about using an aftermarket exhaust I can tell you first hand that the test drive with the Giannelli was amazing because the stock exhaust has almost a 90 degree elbow on it. Theirs definitely a difference. 20170815_205532.jpg20170815_205430.jpg20170815_205401.jpg

About the exhaust, do detect both a performance difference as well as an audible difference? TIA!

The horizontal position of the Ram mount - I think - opens under weight. It's the "fall out" position vs. vertical. Right? Having dropped and ruined 2 iPhones I have some expertise in this.

Lee the performance is different. I'm not sure about the audible because I haven't tried to remove the baffle yet but with the baffle in the decibels is about the same.

TwoPort my ram mount is new so the spring is pretty tight but I didn't feel comfortable with it in the vertical position and that's why I keep it in the horizontal.

I use a RAM mount too, but I also have a little "bungee" cord on the iPhone, just in case!IMG_0860.jpg

A little update for everyone reading this on the exhaust. Took out the baffle today and took it for a 30 minute ride and boy was the sound pure joy to my ears. It actually sounds somewhat like the sport bikes I've been used to riding in the past but not overly obnoxious because of the catalytic converter. It has enough sound to let people know your around but not irritating when your riding at highway speeds. Best $199.00 investment yet. OBTW the Giannelli website says 4 HP and I believe it because it has a lot more throttle response now. It is highly recommended to wake your scoot up!

I have never lost a phone off any bikes but on my Ural ram mount I now use the elastic "holder" thing pictured below. I can't imagine a phone coming loose with the ram and that thing. Costs less than 4 bucks.

Next on my list was the Kaoko throttle lock and now installed. Havent ridden it yet but cant wait to relieve my wrist of stress on long rides. Ill let everyone know how it goes.20170902_122723.jpg

After 3 or 4 rides the throttle lock does take some getting used to but it does work you just have to play with a little to get it dialed. I haven't ridden more than 30 minutes on the highway at a time but it will be a welcomed accessory for rides over an hour for sure.

So I finally went and spent the almost $1,000 dollars with tax for my BMW topcase(damn this bike is expensive)! It was well worth going BMW rather than GIVI or SHAD because it just compliments the bike and looks like it belongs.20180203_152546(2).jpg20180203_152533 (2).jpg20180203_152604(2).jpg
