I took a couple of days off last week for an extra long weekend riding Vermont. There was a hill climb that Max BMW sponsored on Saturday and Sunday at Mount Ascutney and I thought I would go and watch. I considered entering, but, didn't want to have to drag along a tow car and trailer, in case of crash or breakdown . I just wanted to ride the back roads. The weekend forecast was not great with threats of rain. It did rain only a few sprinkles though, and it sprinkled about 50% of the time on my way home.
Unfortunately, at the hill climb, no spectators were allowed to go along the course. Plus there was a small turnout, so I got bored quickly and continued my ride. I based myself at Killington, and ventured out as far north as Smugglers' Notch, a loop east to Barre, and South to Bellows Falls. I tried to stay on roads I hadn't ridden before, ( this is getting harder and harder)and I found some beautiful curvy roads , highlighted by trees beginning to turn on the mountain sides. I got in about 800 miles.

View attachment 1310 and a couple more View attachment 1311 I always wanted one of these.

I understand that sentiment. There's one on display at our local BMW dealer. I'd love to ride it. There's a lot of vintage bikes I'd like to ride. I've owned a few in the past 55 years that were fun. But for dependability, handling, and riding pleasure I'm sure liking my GT. It's one of those bikes that the more I use it the more I like it. I wasn't super impressed when I first got it but now I really am.
