Local sightings (Long Island, NY, USA)

Last week when I was riding my LT off to the dealer (to swap for my C650GT. They'd finished servicing my scooter, but the ABS warning lights on the LT started flashing, so...) I saw a red C650GT heading the opposite direction.

Today, on my way back home from the only Tim Horton's on Long Island (in Westbury, NY) I saw a white C600 Sport heading the opposite direction.

We're GROWING!!

Sure hope BMW does well with these scooters. The only ones I've seen in my area is mine and one on the sales floor of the BMW dealer. It's been there for a long time too.

There is a local scooter club, the Long Island Hornets... but when I showed up at one of their gatherings they all kind of stared at me as my scooter was nearly TWICE the size of the majority of them (there was one Burgman present, and I was told at least one other member owns a TMAX, but...).

It would be little because there are so few of us. I have not seen any on the road yet. If you went to your dealer and maybe they can help you by contacting other owners for you.

Based on the tensioner recall numbers I would think that there are 50-60 in the southern Ontario area mostly closer to Toronto. I am sure they are thinking of the small club thing also it would only take one person to contact the 4 dealers and have them contact the other owners for you (if they are nice they may find time for you) then the person can contact you if they were interested.

I visited NYC this weekend as a cager, and while walking through Times Square, saw a blue 600 sport parked close to the TKTS window. Maybe next time, I'll take the bike, but just doing Manhattan on four wheels is challenging enough.
