On a 6 day trip around Lake Michigan and just the other day on day 3 I start up to leave and see the warning light and it indicates a headlamp out. Sure enough my friend verifies it is out. I have my auxiliary lights but we were in Green Bay and heading into an area with less buying options so we stop at local parts store to get a replacement bulb. My friends suggest maybe we just change it now and I figured I had to remove the right panel but I heard some say you can access from underneath so I give that a try first. Sure enough, the rubber cover is off and the old bulb is out in less than a minute. A little fiddling around with the clip, but I'd say the new bulb was in within 2 minutes. Less than 5 minutes for a bulb change...YES, only minor delay in trip and back to full operation.
I've changed a fair number of headlamps on my cars and at work so I'm familiar with most of these bulbs, but overall the low beam bulb change on the 650T is an easy no tools required job. Reach up under Wheel well, find large rubber cover and remove it, disconnect power plug and squeeze metal clip together to remove bulb. Replace bulb without touching glass and reinstall parts in reverse. Toughest part might be getting clip back in place using just feel and not being able to see it.
