Hi BLSKN,
Wow, Kuwait! are you still in Ramadan or Hari Raya? I know in Singapore they have just started or just finished, can't remember. If you have that holiday as well, I hope it goes well for you.

For the tire change, you may want to switch to the Pirelli that the sport uses. I am not sure what the actual lean angle is, you might want to take it easy and slowly lean further and further over a week or two; then have a look at your rear tread and see where you are scuffing the tire. that could give you an idea of how far you can go. I ride my sport pretty aggressive and still have 10mm un ridden tread on the edge of the tire.

hope that helps.

Wow I'm surprised u knew about e Ramadan month & Hari Raya... That's cool to know! We're indeed heading towards e end of e 2nd week of Hari Raya now or Syawal for some. I'm using e Dunlop GPR-100 Sportsmax now and this thing can really turn in pretty low that e sides can easily touched e Tarmac. It's very grippy but I got a feeling it ain't gonna last long...

I have been told I was not American, but Internationalist. Having lived in all continents but South America. Don't forget I lived and still talk to my friends in Singapore. You included...he he

I was in Kuwait for a tour with the military, and thought there would be lots of motorcycles seeing it is warm all the time. Nope! it was to hot to ride until after Ramadan, and then it seemed as though people only rode at night. Saw Harleys and BMW's mostly. Oh, and one moped.
I also went to the first ever custom motorcycle show in Qatar, which was held at their drag strip.

I would go with the Pirelli Diablo tires I have them on my bike big improvement over the metzlers and will last longer the Metzlers only lasted me 4700 miles I have 7000 miles on the Pirelli tires and have about 2000 miles left on them.

With the Metzler feel free tires I have been over as far as 5mm to the corner left.

I have 12000km on the tires and a fair amount of tread on the back and about 2000km left on the front

This is also my experience with the Metzler Feel Free tyres, about 13,000km usage. This based on previous C650GT and present C600 Sport. The Diablo's seem to last 7,000km based on two samples that I know of. The Diablo's are pretty sticky, but I have found the Feel Free's just fine for grip and great in the wet.

These pics are with 6,500km done, and only grounding the centre stand momentarily two or three times.

I have NO chicken strips on the rear of my FeelFrees, and just about a quarter of an inch on both sides of the front. Only time something has ever "touched" was if I hit a bump mid corner (and then the centerstand throws up a shower of sparks). I can't imagine the Bridgestones offering any more grip than I need and the life of the FeelFrees make them worth it.

I had switched to FeelFrees on my old TMAX and didn't feel like it suffered any loss of cornering grip. Never got to see how long they'd last, though, as I traded it in on the C650GT when they still had plenty of "meat" left.

My stock Pirrelli's seem to limit my lean, as they continue to slip occasionally even sometimes with casual cornering. I have cleaned and roughed them several times.
I have never had tires do this to this extent, in all my years of riding. Anyone else find this?

I'm thinking I have a bunch of "chicken strips" :D on my old FeelFrees. After all, my personal damage experience was related to dirt and that was when injury recovery was related to minutes rather than some degree of "permanent".

FWIW...Here's a video from a month or so ago I took while screwing around with my iPad for some totally unrelated reason while looking at my old FeelFrees that had about 8,200 miles on them. (Note: This ain't no Tomas quality video)

I didn't feel comfortable on the original tyres. As they slip occasionally with normal riding.
Now installled michelin power pure tyres and i feel more comfortable and have a lot more grip in corners.

Please post your mileage from this tire as you get into it - I had a set of Power Pures on my MP3, but experienced much less mileage from the tire - could get 6-7k from a Michelin City Grip, but only 4.5-5 from the Power Pure.

Hello,

The original tyre i had was the metzeler feelfree

The michelin power pure i have now:
About 9000 km front tyre.
Rear tyre is now 11000 km and wil go to 13000 km i think

The power pure will not last as long as the metzeler i had.
The compund is softer, even the tyre is dual compund, hard middle and soft at the side.

While I like the Perelli tires and used them a lot on my big bikes, I would switch to the softer M's, I prefer to change the tires on a shorter interval and know I have maximum grip. my P's are at 7000 miles and are only just starting to show flattening on the center, but with the HP increase I have I continually get slippage in turns. I am planning to change the tires this fall, when the weather in Seattle gets bad enough to warrant less riding, if the M's hae better grip in the rain then I might feel more confident in wet riding.

Hello,

I just changed my post from before.
I just realised in the us you use miles.
I live in europe, so we use km

Will have a big difference if we talkabout how long a tyre will last.
