My first casualty with the scooter

So I go to ride home from college at 10:00pm at night in which I have to use the freeway and my windshield wont go up so that was a exciting ride at 75MPH! So with 1,799 miles on it the ole scoot has to go the dealership! After searching the forum I'm hoping its just a ECU reset or a calibration for the windshield. Thank god for warranties though because you never know what it could be and how much it will cost!

Update it was what they call a windshield calibration. Under warranty and fixed! The dealership said it happens from time to time with these motorized windshields.

That's good news. I have to admit, when I saw the thread headline I was thinking you hit something. Glad it was just a minor adjustment.

I'd prefer the windshield to be independent from the computer like the BMW K1100LTs I had. I had to get my computer re-calibrated once early on but haven't had any further problems. I might have caused the problem when I removed the battery to add an electric outlet for my Gerbings heated gear. Possibly disconnecting the battery for awhile caused a loss of memory in the ECU. Who knows? It's all magic anyway.

Yeah SteveADV maybe the thread topic might have been over the top but you dont expect stuff with such low miles like my scooter to have problems. As exavid said though these scooters are so electronic now that any change in battery status or glich with the ecu and they end up having problems. I guess you just deal with the bumps in the road.
