I just have been wanting a good sized scooter to run errands and get a few groceries, for several years, as I'm now 76 yrs. young, so I won't have to get the big Harley limited out or drive my car to the store, but still get the enjoyment of riding. So, I found this '16 someone traded in on a Harley, w/ 240 miles on it, and made an offer and now I have one. WOW!, it's much more than I anticipated it would be. SO, I've redden it now about 60 miles, and now have an oil leak in the drive casing to the real wheel, and, being still under warranty, have taken it to Freedom power sports in Hurst, and the're fixin to put a new gasket in it next week and hope that's all it needs. I'm retired from American Airlines, 30 years, Int'l F/A, back and knees etc. worn out, but not my love of riding since 1952. Hope I have many years left. Love touring and seeing Gods work making a beautiful country like ours, that we get to wander and enjoy. wanting to add a backrest, LED lights front and back, louder horns, so, I'm seeing several posts that look very helpful in doing that. Maybe we'll see y'all out there on the road some day. Dave C. Bedford, Tx.

Congratulations! Best step thru motorcycle ever built. I'm still riding my other BMW's but the scooter is my bike of choice. The pirates have little love for BMW's and no love for scooters. :)

Welcome David, I've been riding for about the same length of time as you have and can tell you the GT is one fine, not so little, covert motorcycle disguised as a scooter. I've put about 10,000 miles on my '13 and can vouch for the fact that it's nimble in traffic, very good in the twisties and better than my previous Goldwings in rainy weather. Also it can carry just about as much in the under seat and top box. Very good windshield and fairing. To me it's a bit avant garde in styling but I don't see that when I'm riding it. You won't need to change any lights to LED unless you're just wanting do add addtional ones because the only incandescent light on the bike is the headlight. All the rest are LED. One thing about this bike is that it uses a CAN bus electrical system the same as new cars so adding extra electronic loads can cause the system to show a fault on the ECU. Usually not a problem. I replaced the single'meep', meep' horn to two louder Fiamm horns (which sound great) and even though I ran them through a relay it did show a 'battery short' on the system's memory. It didn't hurt anything or show anything on the instrument problem but I saw it with my GS-911 OBD diagnostic tool. I just cleared the fault before I take the bike to the dealer so they didn't see it. Now that the warranty is gone it doesn't matter.
