Well, --I'm new to scooters, not bikes though, and I've just acquired a 2016 C 650 GT and I'm really liking it a lot. I've already put on a V-stream windshield and it's great, much better wind protection, and I'd like to put on a front fender extension, to help protect the engine and all the bike behind the front wheel from road splatter. I can't seem to find a good solution...yet. I'm hoping someone out there has one already, and if so could tell me how to get this problem fixed. I've already looked at bells Mag 9 helmet for Sena Bluetooth 20S, and that looks promising for tunes and phone, and I'm still looking for a LED bulb that will fit for the frons lights, but the fan on back is not letting me put the dust cover back on, so, I'm still looking for that, in the meantime I've put in Sylvania ultras, but would like brighter yet. I've ordered the backlit roundels from schroedie.de in Germany, and he's been very helpful. I like more lights on my bike/scooter, and here in Texas we can have yellow front running/turn lights, so he's making those for me, and also red/yellow run/turn lights for the back of the scooter. I'm not going to mount them behind the original bmw roundels, but in front a bit further to the nose and put on a smaller roundel, like the one on the tail of the scooter, to allow more of the light to show, as well as for the back panel, at the front of the white reflector strips on each side. I'll try and post some pics when they get here and installed. I'm having fun. I did already raise my backrest about 3 inches, and that's a great improvement also. It is in the shop though, as I've had a niggling oil leak from the final drive housing, and this is the 3rd gasket-seal set they've put in and think they have it fixed and then found a different oil leak, so I'm waiting for that to be figured out and fixed. been raining here, so I couldn't ride much anyway. So, that's my story for now and I'm sticking to it. Having fun at 76. Dave C.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg Here is the video for now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfsYADqmkvU

One way to protect the bodywork and extend the fender is with a piece of rubber sheet or a car mud flap. Just cut to shape and attach to the rear part of the fender. That works well and the flexibility won't cause any damage to the fender if you accidentally run over something.

Welcome, David!
Like the others, I too want to see some photos when she's done!

Cheers,
Bob

Hey Dave,

While looking at your pictures I see what looks like an Ultra Classic in the background. Are you coming off a Harley touring bike to the C650GT or just adding the BMW to your collection?

My 650Gt is an addition to my 2016 limited, an next week if things work out right, a 2002 Jaguar XKR twin turbo ( adding to my '07 S550). Stables full now. Maybe a lottery so i can get a bigger garage?
