New Tires, Again! Michelin Road Pilot 4's this time

So I've put about 5,200 miles on the Metzeler tires I replaced in April of this year. Was hoping the second set of OEM tires might get more miles but it looks like only going to get to 6,000 miles or maybe 6,500 miles if I push it. Might be OK in dry weather another 1000 miles but in wet I am not going to trust them. Overall they have been good tires, no traction issues but they aren't lasting as long as I would like, looks like would need to replace a set at least every year.

Was going to try the Pirelli tires but I found some Michelin Road Pilot 4's in stock at Bike Bandit. Seem to get really good ratings on motorcycles and I've heard a few with C-Series BMW's using then when they can be found. I ordered them and will try and stretch all I can from these Metzelers before I mount the Michelins and see how they do.

Anyone else used the Michelin Pilot Road 4 Scooter tires yet and what has your experience been as far as tread life and traction?

I remember a couple threads about this some time ago. Seemed like there was no clear mileage winner over the OEM tires. I'm getting over 11K on my rear and about 8+ on my front and I don't change them at the right time. These days its easy commuting with maybe 10% 2-up riding. I also may retire them later than you do. Its hard to measure exactly but when do you consider them "done"?

I am on my 4th front tire and I have been getting 16000km (10000 miles) each

I am in my 3rd back tire and get 18000km (11500 miles)

I have been using metzlers from the begining

I now have 49000km on the scoot
