New to Touring Bikes: Here's What I Have Learned So Far

After 1 year and 11,000 miles on my C650GT, here is some of what I have learned so far.....

Riding a motorcycle is different from riding a scooter. Neither is better or either is better depending on where the heck you are riding.

Close calls (or almost close calls) should be a learning experience.

Dropping your bike in front of a group of Harley riders helps you to make friends fast if they are real motorcycle guys. They all did it at one time or another.

Regardless of experience no one knows everything. But experience helps.

Practice parking backing up before attempting it for real between a couple custom baggers.

Always wave. It shows you are an adult and that you can ride with one hand.

Don't ride mad. Don't test too many craft beers at one time. And don't show off....unless absolutely necessary.

There is never only one deer.
