Previous owner of multiple scooters (larger ones include Silverwing, Burgman 400 and 650). Trying to sell my FJR1300 and get back to a maxi-scooter. Have found a very lightly used 2016 C650GT (131 miles) that the dealership wants about $9,600 OTD (here in Texas that includes 6.25% sales tax, doc fees, license and registration). I was thinking that $9,100 - 9,200 would be more realistic since it's been sold/titled before.
Have read just about every review and watched the YouTube videos on the BMW scooters that I could find. Seems like every generation has improved. If I were to buy one, would try to do as much maintenance on my own as possible. Still haven't ruled out going back to another (new) Burgman 650.
Thanks for having me aboard the forum and hoping to soak up the wisdom from ya'll.

Welcome to the forum. I probably don't have much to say that you don't know, but $9,600 seems like a great deal(for a basically new scooter) if it's the redesigned/updated GT. If you think the price may be to high, ask them to throw in the matching topcase.

BMW of Fort Worth in Hurst Texas has closeout deals on brand new 2013 C600 Sports for $6,999. They have 2 of them left. They also have a new 2015 C650GT at their Huntsville Alabama store for $8,687.

Thanks for the heads-up on these deals. More inclined to go w/ the GT model d/t to the ergonomics (for my aging body). Going to stop at the BMW dealer outside of San Antonio this afternoon and actually sit on a GT model to see if it "fits".

Good idea! I test-sat on a GT to see about the seat height and make sure I could get it on and off the center stand easily well before I bought one.

I'm getting older too. Bought my Sport to have something easier to ride around town and on short trips than my GS. I find the ergos on the Sport to suit me just fine.

BTW... Love Kerrville. Used to go to the Kerrville Folk Festival almost every year back in the 70s and 80s.

Sat on the C650GT this afternoon - ergonomics were fine (6 ft tall, 32 inch inseam). Seems to have just a tad more legroom for me than the Burgman 650 (real or imagined I don't know). Seat was higher which I liked. Good view of my arms/shoulders in the mirrors. This model didn't have the proximity alert on it. Salesman started it up - sounded like a parallel twin scooter to me (a good sound) - didn't notice any "tractor" sound that I've read about. Still undecided whether to go w/ the BMW or the Burgman. Both seem to have their own merits. On the plus side, have a buyer for my FJR1300 so decision time on the scooter will be coming soon.
Kreiman, the Folk Festival grounds are about 10 miles from my home. We retired here from San Antonio about 3 yrs ago but have never been to the music festival.
