Our mirror may SUCK...

I agree that it's ugly. What I have found is like the wind shield, the mirrors just take some time to get use to. I notice that people tend to jump quick to other said parts. Just try them for awhile and like myself you my find out you like the factory parts.

My own concern regarding the SAENG mirrors is the additional weight they'd add up high. Those of us with GTs have seen how much movement the shields experience on a bumpy road now. With the additional weight up high, I can't imagine it would end well. Also, every time you'd adjust your shield you'd have to readjust the mirror.

The search for a solution continues...

I don't like cameras because they don't give you any depth perception. You'd also have to account for the difference between left on the screen vs. left in real life. Unless it was programmed properly, a camera would NOT give you a "mirror image." You might think something was coming up on your left when in reality it was on your right.

My truck camera is justified for orientation I think they would probably have that too.Depth perception? How many mirrors have that saying on it? You know the one.

Given how cheap TFT screens and cameras are these days, I wish a manufacturer would just add a camera to bikes. Really no reason major touring bikes don't have this technology yet. Then again, we are still begging for cruise control on our scoots.

I have a Backup Camera installed on my GT. It is Wi-Fi, and connects to my old iPhone, I have mounted with a Ram mount plate on the brake master cylinder. I have the camera mounted under my Top Case. Works great most of the time. Hard part is on sunny days. I haven't found a good solution for glare on the screen. If it's morning, evening, cloudy, or night, it works great. Got it from TadiBrothers. Just go to their website and do a search for iphone.

I've got those little convex "spot" mirrors stuck on each mirror, but it isn't an ideal solution; the images are too damned tiny.

I have them as well. They are too small. I feel like I have to concentrate to hard to determine if a car is in the blind spot and thus feel like I am taking my eye off the road ahead for too long.

To make up for the mirror location I am careful to set one mirror (the left) to view wide whilst the other (right) to view as much directly behind me as possible ( I do cover a good portion with my body in this mirror). My thinking is that whilst driving on the inner lane I want to see directly behind me and vehicles approaching on the outer lane. I am extra careful when moving back to the inner lane after over taking knowing that my view of the inner lane is limited.

This pretty much works for me although that I do feel that I need to lower my elbow slightly when looking on the outer lane mirror.

The 2016 GT I have has great mirrors and they are very stable. They redesigned the lower stalks. I have put small convex mirror on lower stalks and they add good blind spot view.
