Panel spring clips/fasteners

After getting panels pointed a while back I just noticed the paint shop did not put on all the spring clips. Anyway I have to buy 4 (or more to have some spares) but the BMW parts fiche does not seem to show them. Has anyone bought some either from BMW or auto parts store and know the size? I am guessing perhaps maybe M4 or M5.

I think an auto parts store would probably have something similar enough to work.

Yeah, I always pick up some when I'm at the hardware store. They do tend to disappear, even after a visit to my dealer. :-(

There are clips for different thickness's , take one with you to compare.

I did take a clip around stores and while a few may have "done", a Mottorad mechanic I know said he'd seen a few cases of people using the unthreaded clips and seeing their panel fly off after a few bumps and vibration. Anyway I did not find any threaded M5 clips in four large stores so went to BMW. At $1.75Cdn per I bought 6 to have a few spares.
