Another year, another 3 peaks challenge completed. 254.9 highly technical miles circumnavigating the SF Bay with stops at the peaks of Mt. Hamilton, Mt. Diablo, Mt. Tamalpias. It was the missus first all day tour as a pilot, and only her second technical ride ever. She did great on her 946. Jaime, in the second picture you can see how well the T-Max tunnel bag works on the Sport, it's a great fit.

Dang. Sorry I got rid of mine now... Oh well... with the extra space that is ALWAYS available on the GT I probably won't need it anyway. :)

Having only spent a brief time in the SF area, I must say, I would enjoy exploring the area more. It is difficult to get the same types of views in New England due to the trees getting in the way. Nice pictures.
Also, I have been riding since the sixties, but, never thought of a ride as "technical". What makes a ride technical?

A technical ride would be one that would be considered 'difficult' by a new rider. Narrow single lane roads, lots of switch backs, elevation changes, gravel, ect. Cruising down the highway, Throttlemeister engaged, and music playing in-helmet might not be considered 'technical'.

Depends, the GTS is a wee bit quicker up to 30 or 40 mph just because it's much lighter. Another plus for Vespa is it's short wheelbase, it handles the twisties much faster. The 946 has not many torques so it's slow to gather speed and did not do steep hills very well. But after about 40 mph the C steam rolls every other scooter I've ridden with, the highly tuned two strokes with the new 5 speed can give me some trouble but just can't stay at 90+ for very long before running into cooling issues. That's why I'm planning on water injection on my 240cc two stroker.
