I bought new Metzlers for the scoot, since I bought them from Cycle Gear they will mount and balance for $25.00, even free would have been too much, I pointed out the label showing the location of the pressure sensor, explained how they would have to work the tire over the sensor then let them take the tire back into their shop to return 2 !/2 hours later with the tire telling me all was good. One tire, front only. Placed back on scoot myself at home and went for a ride. Tire pressure all over the place, first 18 lbs, then 40 lbs then 33 lbs, finally, after about 530 miles no pressure readings. I figured they had slobber knocked the sensor while changing the tire and ordered another new one (the one on the scoot was new and had only been there for one tire change). Tire developed a slow leak so I removed it from the scoot last night, pumped it full of air and immersed it in a tub of water to locate the leak, so small it could have been made with a sewing needle, and I had noticed a noise from the tire so I deflated and broke 1/2 the tire from the rim to find the pressure sensor in multiple pieces inside the tire. I removed the destroyed sensor, used the shop vac and removed the rest of the debris, installed another new sensor and am waiting on an order of "Ride-On" a gel that seals punctures up to 1/4" and balances the tire when riding. So, has anyone here used this product? I've used balance beads in the past (often) and have been very happy with the results, but have stayed away from sealing products being worried about the sealing product screwing up the valve or mucking up the wheel, but this is reported to be water based and will clean up easily with water. Thoughts?
