Shad Backrest Nice Addition Nice Look

After the Speed Addicts shipped only the steel mounting bracket last week, the padded back rest came in today. Quick 10 minute installation. Took me longer to remove the Shad sticker than do the installation. I used the bolts provided in the seat rather then the supplied hardware. Recommend some blue locktite on the steel bracket screws. The back rest makes the 04 look more like a motorcycle now rather than a scooter. The fabric color matches the front seat so it looks factory.

Linda's so happy she can't slide off the back now - so I'm happy!

Fortunately I just can't deal with the big box hanging off the machine. Only BMW can put these boxes on their beautiful bikes and get away with it. I'm waiting for someone to come out with a side case that matches the bikes panels and style!

Same here. I just can't bring myself to slapping big ugly boxes onto a beautiful bike. I always cringe when I see a BMW GS bike with those butt ugly aluminum square lunch boxes strapped to it.

Why doesn’t somebody make a backrest like this that could flip and fold down to be used as a luggage rack

Btw, I also agree a top case ruins the look of this bike, especially the square ones, some bikes don’t look so bad with the clamshell givi type boxes but I don’t think even one of those would look good on this one

I saw one CE04 with the top case from the 1200RT the tear drop shape white to match the CE04 model and it look amazing.
I ask my dealer and to fit it I need the Wunderlich adapter and clip on plus the case is 1200$ so I presume 2500.00$ ca
A lot of money so I when with the back rest from Shad.
