Shad top case

Just installed this Shad 48 liter top case on my scooter. Very easy to install, and at less than $340 for the case, mounting bracket, and case liner, quite the bargain. Not to mention that I think it looks pretty good on the bike.

UPDATE: Forum member davidh generously offered to me a titanium cover plate for my case. The first picture shows it on the case. Pretty nice and much thanks to davidh!

I am still assessing how the scooter behaves with/without the case mounted. My initial senses is that it does catch a bit more dude wind but overall, handling is not that different,

I've ridden my GT at 110+ mph both with and without the OEM top box and really haven't noticed much difference. Ditto in crosswinds on the freeway, not much difference. I ride my scooter like I did my K1100LT, I've replaced those little center stand nubbins twice now and never have noticed a lot of difference with a full top box or no top box. Of the Silverwing, Burgman 650 and the GT there's no contest for carving curves. The greater ground clearance is well worth the price of the higher seat.

Would agree that in normal riding wind does not to me make much difference. But with say 20lb in back higher up handling in twisties for example seems lighter without.

Very nice. I've had mine for a couple of years and though don't use it all that often, it's VERY handy when needed. Did you get the color top plate for it as well?

No, it's just the standard matte black top. That said I think it works well with the black/silver color of the scooter.

Yeah, lighter back there is better. Far less dude wind. (Hey, Jb, I'm gonna use it...can think of several places it is perfecto!;)

Yes, that does look like the titanium color that Shad shows on their website. Other than a glossier finish, looks pretty much the same color as the black trim pieces on the case.
