Stock mirrors inadequate

Sorry, I'm not too savvy . Riderscan is a South African company and they were trying to figure out shipping costs when I found "gears canada" which probably saved shipping costs. "Hunter create.com" is the site on the packing .

I'm wondering if a couple of those stick-on "Blind spot" mirrors most motorcycle shops seem to carry wouldn't be a less expensive solution? I'm thinking of getting a set and adhering them to that part of the mirror that shows my knuckles. Perfect spot, because it's not like they'd be blocking anything useful even if they don't work...

Taking my LT in for a State inspection tomorrow so I think I'll pick up a pair then. They're cheap enough...

Okay, I hate to be the party pooper here but: are you guys telling me that the mirrors are inadequate or tate your motorcycle riding skills are inadequate?
What I mean is, we all know that a "head check" before you change lanes is the wise thing to do and once we are trained to perform this function before maneuvering our vehicles, we should be fine.
My mother has a similar device in her car and I understand that because she is old and can't turn her head worth a s*~t. But then again, I would not suggest that she ride a scooter either!

Besides, who wants to see a distorted version of "themselves" dominating the view at the bottom of their windshield - seems more of a distraction to me than anything else.

The problem is that you can't see what's DIRECTLY behind you without serious contortions. This is bad if you're leading a group as it makes it very difficult to insure everyone is still with you. You also can't tell if someone is speeding up your rear end too distracted texting or taking selfies to notice they're about to rear-end you. Same thing when stopped at an intersection.

Changing lanes is NOT the issue as the mirrors do provide adequate coverage of the lanes to either side... but that isn't where 100% of the potential hazards exist.

I agree with both of you.
I'm wondering about bicycle rear view mirrors. The kind people attach to there helmets. If there is a way to attach them to the mirror support without looking ugly (I refuse to make my baby look anything less than beautiful). That may allow an angle that is below the elbows and give a decent view directly behind.
On my way to the bike shop now - I'll let you know.

And I sure hope I didn't offend anybody with my previous comments. I've taught motorcycle safety training for years and am always astounded by how many people ride without proper training.

How about a bar end mirror on the left side aimed to cover the blind spot directly behind you.

Dang-now that's a good call !!
Okay, so it's off to the Cycle Gear for a bar end mirror. I've used them before and they are even sold as individuals so there will be no waste.
I love you man

Tons of good stuff here, especially for those of us who have a shoulder check that is more of a "half-way to the shoulder check"....one of the challenges I have found with these specific BMWs is how to add accessories such as mirrors, GPS holders, etc.

Not sure if you can see this well but I install a RAM Mount on my left side brake reservoir. It has the ball mount on it and then a small is arm is used to attach the GPS holder.
