The right tool for the job.

Yesterday, I led our club's annual "Champagne Tour" out to the North Fork of Long Island (NY). This was way beyond the range capabilities of the Zero, and I had just dropped off my K1200LT the day before for a 12K service interval (at 204,000 miles). That left "Snoopy" as my "default ride" for the day. Truthfully, I would've taken it anyway, even if the LT was available.

The cavernous storage area under the seat is PERFECT for carrying bottles of bubbly. All that weight would be carried low and centered, EXACTLY where it should be. It was always challenging carrying bottles with the LT as I had to balance the left and right saddlebags correctly. Plus, the right saddlebag had that CD Player in it which limited how many bottles I could fit on that side. The left side bag always got very warm due to the proximity to the single muffler. No, the C650GT was PERFECT. I loaded up a few rolls of heavy-duty bubble wrap and off I went.

I should've taken a photo of the four full-sized bottles of champagne (three of mine, and one for a friend), two bottles of port and some assorted cheeses but I forgot. You guys with the GT scooter know what I'm talking about, though. As the sun set, it was also really nice to keep my hands warm via the heated grips for the long ride home.

Others have said it too, but as an "Urban Mobility Vehicle" the GT scooter makes an awesome grocery-getter!

Picked up a bottle from the following vineyards:
Martha Clara
Osprey's Dominion
Sparkling Pointe

I wanted to make two more stops, but two of our riders had an "incident" and after that, no one was in the mood to keep going so most everyone bailed. I usually stop at the Lenz Winery and Pindar (which was conducting their annual "Champagne and Chopin" program). I have a bottle for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's so I'm good.

There are a few wineries around where I live as well. On more than one occasion I've fit a case of 12 bottles underneath.

I have no problem loading up with a couple weeks groceries in my GT. Between the under seat storage and the top box the scooter will carry as much or maybe a bit more than my GL1800 would. If you add a couple bags of critter food strapped on the back seat with a bungee net it's quite a load.
If I was a wine drinker there are about sixty wineries in the Medford, OR area. For those with other desires there are quite a few pot farms in the area too. My adult beverage of choice is Alaskan Amber. Fortunately our local supermarkets carry that.

I really appreciate my GT when it comes to store runs too. On my old Yamaha Vino 125 I had to carry the 12-pack of beer on the floorboard between my feet and tie a baguette crossways on the luggage rack. Now there's plenty of room. The carry-out clerks are skeptical at first then they really get a kick out of how much the GT will hold.

I've also had a couple of people stop and look when I'm loading a grocery cart load into my GT.

I think a shopping bag hook would be good, although I haven't lost anything from a bag hanging on my handlebar grip. Usually the top box will carry what ever I need to carry.
