    C650 sport performance test

Key word is "some" backpressure. Try that without an exhaust or with my "completely shot open" GPR and you will see it is needed.

    C650 sport performance test

CVT tuning is a non-linear, fine "art". Some notice that higher RPMs elicit more horsepower. I notice that lighter rollers slow down gearing ratio change. It has become my habit to try and get heavier rollers so that gearing ratio changes almost corresponds to "stock" behavior, even on upgraded...

What fender extender did you buy, or was this a DIY item?

    C600 tuning tips

I am happy to report I have upgraded my C650 Sport with a Malossi Wild Lion exhaust. Bought directly off Malossi webstore, used some points for their belts etc for a good discount. So far, it feels an excellent product, way better than my previous GPR Furore 4 Evo that disintegrated after 3...

C650 GT Too much as a first bike?

If you're not riding "too much", why do you need "Grand Tourer" and not C650 Sport? I am tall and I could handle both, but yeah GT is "taller" in terms of seating and feeling. I would not get it as a first bike, C400 yes. If you are strong, C650 Sport as it is lighter than GT and more in line...

    C600 tuning tips

I do not have a Draggy, but it feels like around 5 seconds. I have just gone back to stock exhaust and this improved performance, perhaps for the backpressure. I have BMC filter and Dr.Pulley’s clutch, rollers are stock weight 43g but not round - Dr.Pulley’s SR series. Oh the suspension is...

    Stripped shaft threads

Yes the primary shaft can be replaced without taking the engine apart. You just need to access the left side.

    C600 tuning tips

There was a french company who claim to have the tunes, I have not done this yet. https://oldskulltuning.com/bmw-c650-marelli-mbc2-tuning-with-tunerpro-xdf/ There may be some small win but in my experience a well-working clutch that engages early gives more of a pep and I was happy. All I know...

    Spring is in the air.

Not as spoiled as us in Australia where I ride all year round for sure! ))) And the Great Ocean Road is only 2h away! (Think “Big Sur”) But then the costs of motorcycling go up as I ride much more…50K kms in less than 3y

The New Vision CE from BMW

CE stands for “Corporate Executive” ? They do commute like that in Europe. Even the Danish king uses public transport or bicycle. This beemer is a better deal for sure. I have seen the original CE back in 2008 parked on a strasse in Munich. Then a suited gentleman in shiny shoes came out of a...

    C600 tuning tips

Take a good look at the clutch performance. It is often a culprit. Using tougher springs that stock in the OEM clutch is a bad idea, might cause slippage. Using Dr.Pulley’s clutch may wear the clutch bell sooner.

    NEED NE REAR TIRE

I have finally got to use Michelin's Power Shift and here is what I've got to say. My previous set was Power Road 4 (rear and front). Rear was worn much faster because I am a demon off the lights. So when I put Shift on the rear with still fresh Road 4 in the front, it was not optimal, some...

    C650/C600 Clutch Replacement

Update on the topic - now that the bike has run 82000 kms, it seems like it needs a new clutch bell. Not completely unexpected, given the performance nature of the Dr. Pulley's clutch. I had strong vibrations with the OEM clutch (at 26000 km) and replacement solved those. I ride too much...

    Reducing engine sound level

There is no annoyance from my C650 Sport engine sound. What bike you have and what sound you’re hearing? Do you come from electric bikes by any chance?

    K&N air filter

I myself now had experience. It is more smoother torque everywhere, definitely worth it. I actually found more value in opening the front of the engine (intake) than the rear (baffle out of GPR). I have put the baffle back in since the engine does need backpressure, and there is no catalyst in...

Any ideas on where to get an engine rebuilt?

Hey @Minister, how did you resolve the issue? 40h seems very excessive, it probably takes 3h to disassemble provided you have all quoted tools and aren’t fumbling around looking for non-existing tools or workaround solutions.

    Gas Octane You Use

Reviving the thread to post a note. I have used E10 here in my C650 Sport and the motor was not super-happy. Some drab vibes and slightly underpowered. Best fuel in Australia for C650 is Shell 95 or Ampol 95, any 98s I have tried cause quick engine heatup esp. in summer, fan is often on at every...

    Michelin Power Shift

Installed the rear tyre only. Front is still Power 4. It is a bit wonky, not perfect like Power 4 was. I sometimes feel the rear wheel overrun and small play when decelerating, and the ASC keeps this in check. Power 4 were the best for sure. Maybe installing the front Power Shift will change my...

Why am I enjoying this 650GT so much??

I am remorsed by majority outright rejecting the idea of maxi-scooters. In their mind, maxis are bundled together with Vespas and other small fry. And then they drop out of motorcycling altogether because it is not convenient, easy or safe. Or there is no HD that excites or suits their...
