Replacing CVT air filters

There was a thread here about those ventilation hoses being the culprit in many stalling issues. I figure in my dry heat area I am in for that problem at some point.

I had that same problem with my 2013. Shop had it on computer all one Saturday morning and could not find any cause(it was showing stalling). Did not charge me since they could not figure it out. Two months later on this forum another member was relating his experience with the same problem but his shop found the cracked hoses. I took mine back to the shop and asked them to check those hoses and found both of them cracked. Parts were only twenty apiece but two and a half hours labor. But it did fix the problem. That is why I read these posts. The diagnostic computers do not have X-ray vision and sometimes the only way to figure it out is to dig into it.

"sure enough, there was a split in one of the two idle actuator hoses (p/n: 01 13 71 7 725 265). It's only a $21 part ..."

It does sound promising in your situation and I hope that's the easy fix. As MJNorris said, this is why we read the posts.

I keep pretty meticulous notes on my bike, history, maintenance updates and even potential issues like this one. With a 2013 approaching 16,000 miles, it's good to know if I start stalling, the first thing I'm looking at is actuator hoses. Thanks for sharing the part #.

Yep! That seems to be it. I picked it up yesterday and no issues on the ride home. I put all the body panels back on and just did a quick 20 mile ride and had ZERO issues. I'll definitely may more attention to the rubber components given its age and mileage.

Eegads, I even searched before I posted and took it in. Not sure how I missed it but good lesson learned! Thank you.

I have change mine, cheap one from Ali Express, works fine. Try to prey out of each ballend, otherwise you have to take away the small metallic "thing" at the ballend.

I found when I search of the same number as it written on the parts but at the bottom is different in shape.

I just ordered the original BMW seat 'shock absorber' part from this company earlier this week, fair price and should not need to do any modifications to make it fit:
