Shad top case size??

I’m in the process of trying to bolt this together right now but the Shad big mounting plate doesn’t line up with the Wunderlich mounting holes. Did you modify anything here or am I missing something obvious?

Not really. If either the Shad plate or the Wunderlich rack were designed to fit any conceivable combination of components you could use, they'd be less of mounting plates and more like swiss cheese.
I was able to line up two of the front holes in the Shad plate to slots in the rack plate, and then marked and drilled two more mounting holes into the rack plate. It's only aluminum, so drilling two 6mm (AFAIK?) holes is little work.
Depends a bit how you want to position the top case front-to-back.

Had my CE04 for about month or so, want to add a rack and box. I really liked the r1300gs vario case but with the price of the case, rack plus fitting plate it would have ended up being about £600 ($800) which seems a bit mad. Also the new Shad SH51 seems to suit the bike style but not a direct fit according to bikeluggage.co.uk .. so have ordered Shad rack, SH39 case with white top panel. Should arrive tomorrow and I’ll post some pics when I’ve got around to fitting everything. Thanks to all the posts on this thread for the inspiration. Once the box is fitted my wife might venture out as a pillion…

Thank you so much for your prompt reply, @Tron! It came in as in the middle of solutioning the issue. On initial assessment, I did see the same two holes that would need to be drilled. I don't have the facilities for that type of work so I solved it another way.
I ended up 3D printing some spacers which allowed me to use the rear-most slots in the Shad plate, the provided U-bracket things, and the provided bolts/nylock nuts to latch to the side slots of the Wunderlich rack. Mostly pleased with the outcome but will be revisiting it shortly to print the spacers in a stronger material.
Between the TR55 and the inner bag, we can store both helmets in the topcase, both airbags/jackets in the bag, and both boots in the underseat storage. With a cable lock to secure the bag to the seat, we're now able to really do things with the bike beyond short jaunts.

There's more than one way to skin a cat.
As long as it's sturdy and can't fall off or loosen over time, I'd say go for it.
I didn't need the u-bracket things at all, but was a bit surprised how soft the red Shad inserts were. Didn't allow for a whole lot of torque on the screws.
Although I find it interesting that someone has access to a 3D printer, but not to a 6mm drill...

The Orange Shad inserts were SHOCKINGLY soft…made my prints look like aluminum in comparison.
I’ve got a drill but no vice, bench, sawhorses, etc to make a drilling setup that I’d be comfortable with. Didn’t want to drill it while mounted to the bike either due to concerns of metal shavings getting in undesirable places.

Red, orange, but yes, I think we're talking about the same things.
Don't sweat it. There's really no place shavings could get into that would do any damage. I've drilled it freehand while mounted on the bike.
A bit of canned air at the end and that was it.

So, some boxes arrived today, took less than an hour to get the bracket, case, backrest and white panel fitted- very straightforward. The Shad replacement white panel is not quite as bright as the 'Light White' BMW colour but pretty close.

May I ask what windscreen that is?
I have the Puig, but that doesn't have the extension arms, so it's a bit floppy. Yours looks a lot better in that respect.

It came already on the bike, I'll check the spec and options. i think it's the BMW tall windscreen option from 2025. If I look at the configurator now the 2026 model has a different 'weather protection' screen that looks completely different. I'm 5'9" (175cm) and I could use another 1" or so on the top, if I duck my head slightly the mild buffeting that I get goes away.

Found the option list, the screen (2025 spec) is option 0553 Windscreen, high.

Yes, that looks likely. I've found another thread here about it, and apparently it's not tall enough for a rider over, say, 5"10" anyway.
I have the Puig, that's plenty tall, but they could have improved the mounting a bit.

The dealer that I bought it from had the spec. I'd also checked it with https://bimmer.work/ using the vin, which seemed very accurate.

I tried on my phone and the mobile site didn't work. The desktop site did, I entered the VIN all caps, no spaces. Gave me all the bike specs, production date, some renders including 360º view...

Interesting, I'm doing the same but all I get is "Your VIN is processing, please wait a few seconds!" and a repeating countdown.
Maybe the site doesn't work with the US models, but it would be strange if it didn't.

I also went with the Shad SH47, it's cavernous! Like previous posters have mentioned the Shad feels much better quality than the Givi top box and pannier I had on my Kawasaki er6f.
