Yamaha updates the TMAX for 2015, and we probably won't get this one either in the US

I don't want ABS if I am doing heavy/soft trail riding but I sure want it every where else.

(For anyone interested, go back a few months and look at the exchange between Jaime and Skutorr. A big part of what makes this forum fun.)

At a big show in town recently I questioned a senior Yamaha rep about the missing ABS. His position which I find so lame was that 8 of 10 North Americans still don't want ABS. That may be what Harley guys say but I would bet any money that 8 of 10 (if not more) scooter folks would opt for ABS. I think it was nothing more than a scripted response knowing they tried to keep the price down and then realized it was a mistake!

Maybe the "Old School" Harley guys don't want ABS, but they are very much in the minority now as ALL of the new Harleys have available ABS and that is one of the reason most of my Harley-riding friends traded in their old bikes for newer. And Yamaha did a very poor job of keeping the price down if they're selling their scooter for the same price as a base model C650GT which DOES come with ABS standard.

Keep abs off hardleys, help control the population. We keep protecting those mother nature wants to weed out. Not just hd riders but crotch bike exhibitionist whom wear no helmet and ride wheelies at 80 on a busy freeway. Thats begging for removal from mother nature....
Just sayin'...give MN a helping hand.

I confess I'm confused by bikes like the BMW S1000RR and the new Yamaha YZF-R1. Why give a bike SO much power you need to equip it with computers to keep the riders from killing themselves?? That's why I like the YZF-R3 myself. All the power I need to do serious harm to myself without all the electronic wizardry at a far lower price point.
