The last chance I had to ride was January 10 when I took my K1200LT home from the dealership (it was in for routine maintenance). Right after that, I came down with the flu and couldn't ride for about a week. After that, the roads have been consistently covered with snow and/or ice. I am going through some SERIOUS withdrawal here!

Cold NEVER stops me; as long as the bike starts and the roads are clear, I'm riding. But I'm NOT stupid... if there is any chance of snow or ice on the road I'm on four wheels. I sure as hell hope the roads are clear in March because I plan on riding down to Daytona Beach this year just to get into some decent riding weather (even if it's only in the 50s down there)!!

I feel you. Haven't ridden since early November. I hope I will be able to ride in March. I just need a good 40 degree day and for all the snow to be melted.

Last time I rode was boxing day here in Canada (the day after Christmas) as the last time I saw asphalt was that day on my street. The main roads have been clear but I can't get to them as they are a half mile away. I dropped the insurance this year and will pick it up again when I can see the road.

Ha...I just said earlier today that this winter has been the longest since I have ridden up here in Ohio in a long time. Fortunately, I put in some time on a couple rentals over the past couple months.

But, grrrrrrr, I'm with yah, Jaime.

I'm watching inches 91-94 (or so) of this winter's snow falling right now and wondering when I will be able to get back in the saddle. I've started buying toys for the new season now to get me through the rest of winter. Newest toy is the Sena SMH-10 comms set. Walking around the house with my full-face Shoei (visor up) with the Sena installed, making test phone calls and listening to tunes. Excellent clarity at 0 MPH !!

Yeah I'm jonesing here in Vt. You have about 20 inches more of snow where you are but since your by the ocean yours will melt sooner than here, Some of the old time Vermonters are saying the snow and ice here won't leave us until about the end of April and mud season will last about a month ( through May) HELP!

Ha, been doing similar things.

Time to go out and sit on the bike again in the non-heated garage. No wonder farkle sales are up.

We are sick bastards. :D

Get those modifications done.

After shoveling the daily snow accumulation , I went out to the shed to start my main project for the dry-dock period . I want to move the handle bars back some, and took the body work off them, to scope out potential problems. My plan was to make a spacer, which would raise the bars towards the back. Spacers are easy to make, and I have the machinery to do it. Unfortunately, the dash bodywork is over the turning radius of the mounting bolts, which limits the spacer thickness, or makes it more complicated, and a stepped configuration. The other option is to mount a set of bars from a GT, they are taller, and then deal with the bodywork. Then again, I might be able to cut the bars , put inserts in them to raise them, and weld them back up.
The pile of snow in front of my house is up to the porch roof, so, I think I have plenty of time to get this done before Ice Out on the big lakes.

I WISH. In the Sierra Nevada in January, they got 2% of their normal snowfall, 2%. We are so HOSED...

Looks like more California wildfires. I sure WISH we could send you the TONS of white sh** that's fallen here. I'd GLADLY trade you that for some California sunshine. No significant snow predicted this week, but the brutal cold continues. No chance of the ice on my street disappearing any time soon.

We had a heat wave of 29F yesterday. Actually backed the KLR out of the garage and then back in. Nice ride.:p

I went into the garage and gazed wistfully at the two PTWs in there.

Whoops! Forgot to switch the Battery Tender over. Gotta remember to do that tonight (I only have one, so I put each bike on it for a week at a time).

I had one battery tender an was switching it between my Z3 and my scooter. This past fall I bought another tender and I do not have to worry about switching it over each week.

Me too. First 'ride' in well over two months. We got up to 40 on Sunday, and I backed the scoot all the way down the driveway and rode it back into the garage. Twice. Wicked fun!
