I have the GIVI windshield on my C600 Sport. It is much taller and a little wider then stock. I would recommend it, it does the job. I haven't put the hand guards on yet as it is warm now. Maybe in the fall I will install them.

If it's a bit TOO tall, you can always just cut it down a bit. The GIVI Touring Screens run a bit tall, so that you end-up looking through them, as opposed to over. A good rule of thumb is that the top edge should be no higher than the bridge of your nose. Or, when looking forward, the top edge in your field of view should intersect with a point on the level road 30 feet ahead of you, with you sitting on the bike on the wheels.

Of course, if you want to look through your windshield, go ahead. You will have a lot less bug strikes on your face when you get to your destination. The REAL rule of thumb is "do what you want, it's your ride". Decide what level of comfort you want, that's what is important. High windshields will also make for a lot less helmet buffeting, which means a smoother quieter ride. Do you cut down the windshield in your car? Of course not. You look through it.

Great thanks a lot I think I will go on Givi because for me it looks the best windshield on the market when you looking touring windshields.
Snowdog how about your experience on highway when you are riding bit faster..still good=?

I find it works quite well at highway speeds. In fact, I leave it in the highest position most of the time. Sometimes if I am cruising the small coastal towns and going slow, I might lower it and look over the top. My opinion is that it works better in the low position then the stock shield. I have had GIVI shields on three bikes, and have always been happy with the product. ( BTW, my fathers family was from Finland. Hope to visit there some day.)

Snowdog: Nice to hear that. I think you should see Finland someday! Best season times are January-March if you like to see Winter and June-August for real summer with daylight 24/7.
Thanks again your feedback. In Finland we do not have too many BMW Scooter....Do you have any other recommendations or feedback on bike?

An older thread, but any updates? My issue is the noise. I have a full face helmet and wear earplugs; but at just about every position the noise is incredible over 45 mph. I think there is an earplug thread, I'll look for recommendations on better plugs. I just use the basic pharmacy foam.

Still, the sport screens look great. I'm also looking at the Ermax Aeromax. Ermax Aeromax Screen Windshield 51cm for BMW Scooter C600 Sport

I have the Calsci Large BMW C650GT Windshields. No buffeting as compared with stock. When it is down I get air. When its up no noise as the wind is completely blocked which is what I was after.

Aeroflow works for me on my GT. That and the on the fly adjustment. Going from my KLR to my GT is like going from a Wrangler to a 5 series and a big part of that is the Aeroflow.

Just remember, people will tell you that you should look over the top. This is not a law, just a opinion from the motorcycle pundits that know everything. If you want a windshield high enough to look through, go for it. I live along a favorite weekend MC route, and see more and more riders looking through their shields. I have the GIVI on my Sport and even though I can lower it to see over, I find I am most comfortable with it at full height.

Will .5" work? It depends what you expect from .5". What do you want to achieve?

I'm wondering if it would change the wind noise because of the shape/dynamics type thing. I'm more temped to go shorter but just wondering.

I'm curious to try a taller screen for noise, when it's cold/wet out I can't have my stock 600 screen up all the way as I don't get airflow across the vents in my lid and the visor fogs up real nice, even on a pinlock equipped Schuberth.

If you never ride in the rain, I suppose having a windshield you have to look through would work. Either that, or you have to devise some way of installing a windshield wiper.

THAT'S why the prevailing wisdom is for a screen you can see OVER.

I prefer looking over the windshield and if you go fast enough the rain will go over your helmet, Mind you you have to be prudent with your speed when it is wet and be safe

Matter of opinion, tall windshields have all ways worked for me and seems to work best for me on my Sport.

I like the taller "shaped" Aeroflow and like Bill said, speed makes a difference. That's why I really appreciate the electric adjustment feature of the GT windshield. I move mine up and down all the time depending upon speed and temps.

Still looking into this. Anybody make try anything else? My observations after about 1800 miles of California winter riding; aka dry, chilly, and sometimes foggy.

Lowest position: best for wind noise but still to loud; blast of wind on my upper torso that only bothers me when it's actually cold outside.

Middle position: compromise; as it should be, between noise and protection. Also looks more natural IMO.

Highest: I really like the protection from the wind but man, it's loud.

I'm too chicken to drop $$ on something that may or may not work.
