    Headlight burned out?

I find that I go through a low beam bulb about every 5,000 miles. I Was thinking that it was because I wasn't waiting for the little orange triangle to go away before trying to start the bike. Then I thought maybe my thumb slipping off of the starter button caused one or two of them to fry. I'm...

    Lifespan of the CVT belt

I have a 2013 GT with 36,000 miles on it. At 26,000 miles the dealer did the big service. Replaced the rollers on the 'clutch' which were on backwards ( I was charged for parts but no labor on the entire service since it was the first time they had done a scooter service). They said the belt...

    Greetings from Oregon

Good to hear the comparison between the two makes of scooters! I'm down here in Southern Oregon over towards the coast on Hwy 199. I'm about to turn over 33K on my 2013 GT and loving it. I did add a 'wing' to the top of my windshield which made all the difference in the world to get rid of the...

    I am keen to buy a C650GT

Hopefully you will have a great experience and a lot of fun. I have almost 31,000 miles on my 2013 and it has never let me down. A few minor irritations, but mostly because of the dealer's unfamiliarity with 'scooters' . . . they have gone to great effort to make things right. Have fun! So, what...

    Bent Kickstand 650 GT

junk side stand I have had my sidestand replaced under warranty once already. The dealer has tightened up the entire assembly repeatedly, replaced the entire assembly once (new updated parts supposedly) and has re tightened again since then. I'm supposed to take it back again to have them...

    New member welcome thread..

I forgot to include the original message . . . . I don't spend much time on the PC. I was asking the owner of the Electric Beamer how far it will go on a charge. Ok, I'm out of here, time for a ride!

    New member welcome thread..

Well Hi to all! I'm Vaughn from Cave Junction, Oregon. The GT is the first 'scooter' I have ever owned. The first ride I ever had on a 'bike' was when I was about 6 years old. Our neighbor bought a Vespa and took all the neighborhood kids for a ride around the block. That was back in the late...

    Best First Bike

My first bike was a Honda 305 Scrambler back in 1966 . . . . it seemed huge and I was a good sized kid. I think the Rebel is the perfect beginner's bike as well as a good daily commuter. Most of the common mistakes that lead to dropping the bike are killing the bike on take off, and too much...

How did you find this BMW Scooter forum?

I as well googled BMW C650GT and stumbled upon this forum. I don't spend a lot of time on the PC, but have found this to be a great site. Thanks!

    Fuel Capacity

this last fill up my fuel light came on at 189 miles. When I gassed up, the bike had 206 miles on it and took 3.76 gallons. I always figure that it is safe for 200 miles. The mileage doesn't seem to be effected by having a passenger on the back.

How Long Do You Let The Engine Warm Up

    Communication/ Blue Tooth qeustions

Our first systems were 'blue ants' . . . . we moved up to Sena's and love them, easy to use. While I haven't blue toothed them to our phones (no need) they can be, along with ipods, etc. We ride two up and on different bikes as the mood changes. Sena also added an optional voice activated camera...

    saying hi

Nice to have someone who has been riding other scooters besides the Beamer. There is a post from a man asking about the beamer fitting him since he is a bit heavier than yourself and about as tall. . . . maybe you can give him some info? Hopefully your dealer doesn't suck . . . . or continue to...

Preload adjustment (riding with a passenger)

I'm 225 and the wife is 165 . . . . my preload is set on the 3rd position. Most of our roads are twisties . . . handles great. It is a little stiff riding solo . . . .

    Headlight burned out?

I am on my 4th low beam bulb . . . . they go out about every 6,000 miles. My current bulb has been in a bit longer. The battery is always fully charged because I ride my bike almost daily. The bulbs burn out.

about to turn over 18,000 miles on my 13 month old GT

Been a while since I have been on this forum. Took the GT in for the major service at just over 26,000 miles back in January. They checked the valves (on spec), replaced the drive chain but the sprockets were good. The belt was fine with no signs of wear, but the rollers needed replacement and...

    BMW C650GT Smell

I have almost 27,000 on my 2013 GT. The smell I get most often is like burning rubber. This is coming from the belt drive exhaust vent. At the 25,000 mile service, the tech said the belt still looked great and didn't replace it . . . it is the original.

    Thank You BMW

I have a peg leg on the left side due to an industrial accident years ago. I'm limited in what I can ride due to no foot to shift with in the normal sense. I did ride a big cruiser with a heal and toe shift which was ok. The BMW GT is as close to a sport bike as I will ever get, and it is an...
