Did you put on weight? :unsure: Maybe double check how tight/solidly the center stand rests against the stop, and check whether perhaps that stop is no longer in the same place it used to be / in the correct place? Is the tire the correct height spec?

The shop manual you included a picture of is the only one available (pirated these days and not up to date)

X2 on the cam chain tensioner. Stop engine until it's replaced. Likely the noise will be gone but if not you have eliminated the most likely and potenially disastrous cause. Search on this site, tons of info for you.

Only scan tools that will work are GS911 and Motoscan. Get the Motoscan. And search is your friend.

Maybe try secondhand on (the Finish equivalent of) Ebay? Look all over Europe?

Maybe the mechanic can check the play in the end transmission chain to see whether it's time to move up to the next-bigger size (of 4) of the chain guide rail. And replace the final drive gear oil.

Funny, I regularly say to myself how much I enjoy all the mechanical and exhaust noises my stock 2016 Sport makes. Would not change or try and muffle any of it. To each their own, clearly!

Best of luck - I am monitoring my mechanical tensioner, no 3 in 18,000 miles, and have 4 new ones sitting on the shelf to replace whenever I start hearing too much of the death rattle. Fingers crossed that BMW Australia will do the right thing.

I would count the number of teeth to get confirmation that the old and new sprockets are the same, effectively. I would bet that they are, if the parts manual only provides one option.
