It shows more members in British Colombia than California??? THAT can't be right...

You have to remember, we as Canadians got our scooters about 3 weeks (early October) before you in the states (late October). We have had a longer time to accumulated the larger numbers.

Thanks SteveADV. I may as well join in, I have been riding mainly scooters for 25 years. Several 50, 125 and 250 then graduated to 2 burgman 650, on to Yamaha FJR 1300 now c650 GT, bronze. Can not say enough good things about the GT.

Spent 40 plus years in aviation, mechanic, helicopter pilot, airline maintenance manager and airline maintenance programs administrator/manager.

Would like to know more about the construction and general maintenance required for the GT. I have found the Quality and general construction to be far ahead of other scooters I have owned.

We talk a little about this in another thread, but do you change tires when the temps go down?

Leave the same tires on all year.
I got my scooter last October 12 2012. From that point of time I put on about 1300km till April 2013. The biggest problem I have is getting out of my street as the snow is poorly plowed.

Howdy just purchased and took delivery of my '13 C650GT, been riding continuous from 1966.
Have owned everything it seems.
Traded an 09 Triumph Rocket III Touring for my scoot
Maintenance and tires got the best of me so I joined the BMW Scoot crowd

No doubt you have noticed the mechanical know-how and experience on this forum is at a very high level. For guys like me that do not have your background, it has been a real education.

Welcome, Ray. The Rocket is a beautiful bike, but I think you'll enjoy your GT.

Wow! That's a HUGE change in power and weight! But I think you're going to like the change, too.

I'm Mike from Johnstown, Pa. Been riding motorcycles since 1964, like to tour. Lately motor cycles tend to be uncomfortable on my old body. Bought a C650gt and love it. I can still keep up with the big boys and it's so much more comfortable. I tend to ride it more, so easier to get in and out of the garage and to get on and off of.

Hey Mike,

That is some beautiful country around Johnstown. About 30 minutes north of you is Rt 422 that is mostly two lane and goes up through PA, north of Pittsburgh and into Cleveland. Almost a couple hundred miles. An interesting ride if you have not done it already.
