Hello, My name is Dave and I have been riding maxi scooters since 2004. My first was a Burgman 650, then a Silverwing, then a DN-01, then back to a Burgman 650 and now a C650GT. I had a few motorcycles mixed in with the scooters such as a Moto Guzzi Breva 1100, Suzuki Vstrom 650, and a Honda NC700. I bought my C650GT late in 2012 and I have been a member of Maxi-Scoots since 2004. I find the C650GT a lot more comfortable to ride than the other scooters I had and a lot easier to drive than the motorcycles I had. I am down to just the C650GT now and probably will stay that way for a while. My next bike might be the electric BMW if it ever makes it to the states and it doesn't cost to much. I have had no issues so far with my C650GT and I can say the same for my other scooters that I have had and I hope it stays that way.

Hi All from Brisbane Australia where you can ride all year!
Just signed the deal for a sport which I'll pick up next week.
Past bikes have been a TMax and my current ride is a BMW F800ST. (I just missed the convenience if a scooter so back I go!)
Cheers

Hi There, dan from the uk here, just picked up my used c650gt in Sheffield and rode it 4 hours home in cold monsoon like wind and rain.... Had never even sat one before pick up but can safely say it was perfect for such a foul trip.... I actually enjoyed it! What a great companion for my
Customised Triumph Scrambler! Cheers Dan

Welcome to Ryan and Dave from the Commonwealth of Virginia!

Dave (rivetts) -

I see that you had a Honda NC700; was it the DCT (dual clutch transmission) or the 6-speed manual? I was very, very, very close to purchasing the DCT version not long ago, but didn't follow thru for a couple of reasons. I still wonder if I did the right thing. Do you have any comments about that bike specifically that you care to share?

I had the 6sp, they had not come out with the dct or I would have bought it instead of the 6sp.

Greetings from Central Florida, Dale here, just picked up my 650 GT. First BMW but most likely not my last. Amazing bike, all of the power needed and a great handler.

Hey Dale, Glad you signed up.A bunch of good stuff and good people here. What color GT did you buy? What else have you owned?

Glad to be here, so here is the stable:

2014 Black BMW C650 GT, took delivery Monday and turned 225 miles today, work sucks or it would be more.
2013 Yamaha Zuma 125, Also Black
2013 KTM EXC350-F, You know what color it is
2009 Harley FLHTCU Ultra Classic, Dark Teal and Antique White

Got the GT as a commuter and to 2 up with the wife to the beach and her craft fairs, Harley is for the Long Haul over the road stuff with lots of luggage. Zuma is a track bike and for my Daughters to use.

I do all of my own maintenance on my bikes and have already ordered the K&N air filter and K&N oil filters, will use Royal Purple in her just like all the rest. I've been looking around the site and have yet to find any information on changing the final drive fluid. Is that something that needs to be done? I was wanting to put Synthetic in there too.

Great collection. Only thing you need now is a Ninja

Saw the Zuma 125 at a recent motorcycle show. Was thinking about getting one for the same reason you have yours. How do you like it?

New member here! I'm in central Ohio where its cold and snowy. I've always been a motorcycle guy and I didn't give a scooter too much thought until I seen the BMW scoots. I plan on buying one this spring/early summer for my 50+ mile commute to work from the burbs to the city. My prior bike was a Buell 1125r, which was a beast of a bike and a great track day tool, but I'm looking for something more docile for everyday commuting, which I believe the BMW Scoot will provide.

Welsome Jsyar, A good commute at 50+, a little further on a weekend and you could park at the Air Force Museum in Dayton and enjoy the old vets talking about your bike more than the ol' days.
Enjoy the ride....

Hey Jeff, Great to have another Buckeye on board. Considering your sport bike background it will be interesting to see if you get the C600 or the 650GT.

Yes, I've been complicating the same question. Either one would serve the purpose, but I'm leaning towards the GT. I'm hopeful to be able to ride them to decide. My wife was partial to the GT at the Cleveland show due to the passenger floor boards, but she'll only ride with me a hand full of times in a given year. So we'll see.
