    Help needed identifying sounds

Sounds like the timing chain tensioner may be on its way out. Easy swap, not too expensive but take care of it soon.

Would a BMW C400 GT be right for me?

If you're not limited to buying new, also consider the C650 range. About twice the power of a C400 so a lot closer to your K experience (I also have a K1600 GTL) and since they're now a bit older, good low mileage 650's can be had for very modest money and still carry you for many years. I...

Is there a way to validate my timing isn't 180 off

No experience with this scenario, but have you checked whether it is a fuel or ignition issue? Pull a plug and see if it's wet or dry. If dry, it's a fuel issue, if wet, ignition (or timing, indeed). Since you put it back to where it ran ok before, it should be something relatively simple, I...

    Upper Right Side Trim

Try Ebay, and/or your local version of Craislist/Marktplaats/leboncoin, and facebook marketplace

    New from Paris

Not normal at all ... I can't imagine anyway. Tough to diagnose if the dealer found no trouble codes in the ECU. Have you tried running a bottle of injector cleaner through it? That would be my first try, after that I would check the idle air tubes, make sure there's no air leaks (anywhere). Bon...

    CRANK SHAFT C400GT BROKEN

You can try with BMW as this is obviously not supposed to happen. Most likely a manufacturing defect, if BMW won't help I would look for a good used engine from a dismantler ('sloopbedrijf').

My first accident led me to my first CE 04

Very sorry to hear about your accident, but good to hear you got another bike, and that you are so pleased with it. Electric bikes still not very popular. My own range needs are much greater - I do 250 miles some days and can't be stopping to recharge every 70-80 miles, but if my needs change I...

    C650GT Runs On 1 Cylinder, Then 2

Service manual is on DVD for sale on Ebay typically - not expensive, a bit quirky to use but lots of good info there. You can get the Motoscan app (around $50 it was when I bought it, full professional version) and the bluetooth OBD2 dongle it needs to communicate with the bike (another $50 or...

    Michelin Power Shift

So far the Road 6's on my K1600 have 8,000 miles on them and look like they will easily go another 5,000, so that's 13,000 miles compared to maybe 4,000 I got out of the Shinkos. So yes they are worth a 30% premium if I understood your post correctly. More important though for me is the much...

AGM or lead acid? Need a new battery after 5 years

P.s. very nice GT Keith! Even matches your helmet quite well.

AGM or lead acid? Need a new battery after 5 years

I have a large-ish VARTA AGM battery that I bought in 2005 (!) that is currently powering my 2002 Volvo S80, not showing any signs of deterioration yet. So AGM batteries also can last quite a while, at least this one does. I am also still using a lead acid battery in another car that I got in 2010.

AGM or lead acid? Need a new battery after 5 years

I just replaced the battery on my 2007 Honda. The battery was standard non-AGM and was from 2012 so did perfectly fine for 13 years ... batteries can and mostly should last much longer than 5 years, 10 is no exception in my experience.

    New C600 Owner

Yes, 6 seconds to 60 MPH instead of 9.5 seconds ('cuz 60 HP vs 34 according to the interwebs) :p

    Michelin Power Shift

Last May I got a set of Michelin Pilot Road 4 to replace my (much too early worn out) Shinkos and they are vastly better than those Shinkos. From now on nothing but Michelins on my BMWs. I have Road 6s on my K1600 and those are also super. I would expect these Power Shifts to also be very good.

Key won’t go out c650 sport

Try spraying some lock lubricant in there - may just be a stubborn 'piece' that is hanging up and preventing the key from coming out.

    Yellow Caution Triangle (LAMP)

Maybe it's one of those tiny lights inside the headlight that's always on? Just guessing.

    TPMS programming

I can confirm the Motoscan app is capable of programming the sensors to the bike. Did it on my C650 and F800.
