I guess that after asking few questions on this forum I should introduce myself. I had a lot of bikes in my younger years and then came a wife, kids and all that stuff. Got back into riding about fourteen years ago on a Yamaha Seca 11. Since then I've had a few bikes. Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki. My Dr told me either you give up your sport bike, a R1150RS or I get to give you a brand new left hip. I have a friend at work that bought a 650Gt a couple of years ago. Showed up at work one day and told me to hop on and take it for a ride and loved it but just a little to bulky for me. Went by my BMW dealer about a month ago and there set a new C650 Sport. Went for a ride and that was it. I still have a KLR650 for day rides in the hills. greetings to all.

Your right Steve. The Sierras are about ten miles east if my house and the KLR is perfect for a day or two ride. Got the scooter for multi day touring. I think it's going to be great. A lot more comfortable than my 04 RS.

:D Hi, Mik here from not-so-sunny Yorkshire! Just putting my foot in the door to say hello, hope to find out the little foibles connected with my new bike - C650GT, which I'm taking delivery of on Tuesday. She's a 2012 model, Platinum Bronze, Highline edition. Need to give up my R1200RT due to an issue which means I can't ride for more than 15-20 minutes without severe hip pain - tempus fugit, as they say.
Cheers now.
Mik

Hey Mik,

I hear yah about the hip issues and an accident a few months ago didn't help my hip problems. I love the RT but also found it to be physically a challenge nowadays on long rides. My guess is you'll find your GT uber comfortable. Keep in touch and let us know how it's going.

Just completed 2nd commute today - no pain! No hassle with traffic, keeps up with traffic and holds its own well on the motorway - may need to adjust the lumbar support... handbook seems to indicate it's a simple job. Maybe it's how I'm sitting? Anyhow, thanks for the welcome, it's appreciated.
Mik:)

Hey,

I just bought '15 C650GT Black - I live in Warsaw, Poland I was riding Forza 125 Before. BMW is a great improvement, I just drove 100km on it, but I already love it ! I hope maintenance costs will not kill me in the future though :(

Welcome - you can save quite a significant amount if you do your own oil change, brake fluid bleed/change/flush and brake pad change. Beyond that you may want to check what local warranty stipulations are to ensure you don't void anything. Others in Europe may have some advice on that.
Have fun!

It's funny I have been on this forum since almost the very beginning and I was looking at the beginning of the thread and the names that are there were common to make comments and start threads, I have not heard the names in so long. I guess it's is because the guys and girls (yes girls) have left and or sold there scooters. Just commenting

Attendance turnover is a "thang" on all forums, of course. But there are a bunch of folks here that haven't owned a BMW scooter for awhile that still participate. Even more that have added a second bike. That is a little unusual considering we are still trying to get the mass to have a rally somewhere.

Personally, I have found scooter people to be more intelligent, better looking, and always on the correct side of the issues of the day. So...I'm stayin'. :D

Hello Everyone,

Greetings from Australia. I'm new here and have had my GT for just around three weeks. I upgraded from a much, much smaller and lighter bike which I used to get my license. I'm loving the stability and comfort, but getting used to the weight. I've been reading a few of the posts on this forum and there's many helpful members with some excellent tips and suggestions. I'm glad I came across this group. Here's a photo of mt GT after its 7hour trip to its new home.
Cheers everyone

Just joined, been riding a long time. Purchased a new scooter to go in the garage with two other bikes. A R1200GS Adventure and a Husqvarna TR650 Terra. The scooter will be shared between me and my wife.

Greetings from Monroe, Wisconsin,
Been riding Bikes all my life- Harley: FLH Electra Glides , Triumphs: Bonneville 750, Trident, Tiger, BSA, Honda: CB350, 2006 Reflex, and now my first BMW: new 2016 C650GT Frozen Bronze Metallic. Just got her yesterday, rode nearly 300 miles on it and am looking for some other BMW C650GT Maxi-Scooter owners to give and get value added knowledge info on this scooter. Have already installed the KAOKO throttle, wind deflectors, BMW small top box with all accessories, AeroFlow C650GT Aeroscreen to replace the factory because of minimal wind control when all the way up, PIAA H7 Xtreme White Plus Bulb Kit, BMW C650GT All Weather Motorcycle Cover, Rear 16 LED Hyperlite running/brake modulator, Fuse block mounted in seat compartment (Centech AP-2).

Waiting to locate the CORRECT MotorcycleLarry.com brake fluid reservoir cover Ball Mount part number to fit this BMW-I think it is the 9000 Burgman 650 cover but no one can tell me what the correct part is for this.

I also am in touch with KRISS (very nice guy!) working on testing out the correct configuration for this 2016 C650GT can-bus Headlight (high beam) modulator. I have used KRISS modulators for many bikes and they are all still functioning like from day one. My Reflex for 9 years everyday! I trust their work.
Anyone else know the Ball Mount Motorcyclelarry reservoir cover part # for this 2016 C650GT? Thanks and Ride Safe.

Hi everybody

I registered a few days cause I bought a '16 C650GT to join my K1300GT!!
I had already had two other scooters (Piaggio MP3 400 and a Vespa 125 LX), and this C650GT replaced a '15 Yamaha MT07.
Despite the MT07 has a fantastic engine, my wife complained that there was no wind protection and it was not very practical for me to move at work!
We did 1200 km in less than two weeks ... and we are quite happy with this option!

Here is my new toy:
